The 3 Days of Christmas Giveaway!!!

Falalalala....lalalah! It's Christmas time, ya'll. Or close enough that it might as well be. This is my favorite time of year. I love the lights, the smells, and yes (I'll shamelessly admit it) the gifts. Though I enjoy buying for others and seeing their faces light up, more than I enjoy having to take the awkward photo holding my new toy. *g*

So in honor of this most joyous of holiday seasons, I'm doing a nifty giveaway. I've only been publishing since July of this year, with no clue what to expect, what's happened has been beyond my expectations. I've gotten to know so many people in so many different parts of the world, have learned that there's a TON of people out there just like me who loves a good fairytale retelling. In a way, I consider my readers part of my extended family.

Which brings me around to the best part... the gifts!

You remember the secret I was lording over ya'll all those days ago??? I didn't want to say anything at the time because I was still waiting for my packages to arrive. They have and so now I can share.

On the first day of Christmas, Marie Hall gave to me....

An Alice in Wonderland Charm Bracelet! (And yes, it's as gorgeous as it appears to be)

On the second day of Christmas, Marie Hall gave to me.....

An Alice in Wonderland Charm NECKLACE! Not only that, but you'll also receive a $5 dollar gift certificate to either B&N, or Amazon!

On the third day of Christmas, Marie Hall gave to me....
A Mad Hatter style necklace/watch. This thing is obscenely cool! Also the alice charm is adorable next to it. But, beings this is the grand prize. You'll not only receive the necklace, the $5 dollar gift card, an autographed print copy of my Kingdom Collection, but for my newsletter suscribers ONLY you'll also get the chance to have your name become a character in my latest book, Forbidden!! (I should warn you, the name will be going to a villain, so expect a dastardly demise *cue manical laughter now*).

So rules, because any good giveaway always has rules...

For the first two gifts, comment on my blog. Tell me what it is you love about Christmas, or... what you love about fairy tales. Or, just feel free to tell me how much I rock, because yeah.... that would totally work too. ;)

For the final gift, either suscribe to my newsletter, or if you have already, make sure to mention that at the bottom of the comment. Either way, make sure to mention you're a suscriber.

The giveaway will start immediately and run through the 15th. The winners will be chosen by random and notified through email the next morning. So please, make sure to include your email address at the bottom of your comment.

Prizes will be mailed out that Monday.

If you win, I'll contact you privately for addresses.

That's it!

My way of saying a BIG FAT THANK YOU to you all. I appreciate you guys and I hope you're having a very, very Merry Christmas season. :D

Happy reading!
~Marie Hall

Christmas and Fairy tales have a lot in common for me, because they both fill hearts with a sense of wonder at things way beyond the scope of our normal lives. Christmas enchants the hearts of millions with the joy of giving to others just as God became man for us. Fairy Tales do the same when they enchant the reader to experience worlds beyond our imagination where anything can happen. Both also give a feeling of warmness that one experiences when we go home, meet old friends, spend time with family, revisit places, or remember good memories. I think it’s really up to the person to keep young to an extent that we can appreciate the magical wonder in things that Christmas or reading fairy tales create. Like the song, “I’ll never grow up! I’m a Toy’s R Us kid!” I don’t want to ever lose the feeling that comes along with Christmas and fairy tales. LOL I guess that’s why I have a Christmas fairy tale theme decorations. I love my candy land nutcracker theme! Makes me so happy!

Anyway, that’s why I love your books so much! You transport us, the reader, to magical places where we can forget our troubles for a while and simply enjoy the ride. Your romances are also very believable with no stale “cookie cutter” characters. Every character is unique and has their own “voice.” I just finished Jinni’s Wish and I loved it! I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone who hasn’t read it yet, but at the end Jinni showed such a change from who he was in the past. He truly was in love with Paz’s spirit and not just in her superficial looks. Paz also had such strength of character to overlook his past mistakes as well. I wish I could say more, but I don’t want to spoil any of it! Read the book “peoples!”

Merry Christmas Marie!! Hope you have a wonderful one!
And * * * * * <-Ra Ra Ra! Cheerleader Pom-Pom’s for another great book! Congrats!

While the holiday itself has never been my favorite I love the Christmas season. It's dark for so much of the day and night where I live so seeing everyone's colorful lights brightens (literally and figuratively) the world. Plus it's a time for surprises and I take great pleasure in the anticipation of giving a well chosen gift to my friends and family. It's also a time of building a sense of wonder and believing in fantasy, something I've never outgrown and one of the reasons I love grown-up fairy tales and retellings.

Wishing you the best during this magical season, Marie!

I have to tell you that I really enjoyed the re-telling of the Alice in Wonderland story that you wrote... it has been one of my favorite books for years (I won't say how many) and that is saying alot from me because I read about one book every two to three days. This time of year, the Christmas season, has always been a magical time for me and my family. We have several get together parties at each other houses and everyone seems to be enchanted with the spirit of giving and just plain old fun.
Thanks again for writing your books and I'm looking forward to reading more great stories written with your flair and style. I'm a subscriber of your newsletter.

Thanks again, Donald

Afternoon Marie, and thank you for putting on a wonderful contest with cool gifts. What I like most about Christmas is watching the kids' eyes spark with the wonder and joy of the season. Like seeing a snowflake for the first two, or cutting their first Christmas tree. And yes you and your stories ROCK!!! And I have signed up for the newsletter.

Have a Merry Holiday

Of course it's still on, Lisa! :D Your name's been thrown into the pot. ;)

Yes, Kezza, that was definetely something that made me rethink publishing it in the first place. I mean the book stands on its own, but it had been intended to be a world and a series before. After so much time though, I can no longer remember where I was even headed with it.

But I'm really glad you enjoyed it. :)Forbidden doesn't deal with the fae, but it is similar in some ways, so maybe you'll enjoy that one too. :D

Awww, thanks so much Donald. That's a great compliment.

Unknown said...

Ash, you're awesome. ;) Thanks so much for the Jinni review. :D

Unknown said...

Thank you, Gina. I've always loved fairytales. Usually the darker the better, and when I sat down to get really dark with it, this pesky little voice kept interrupting me and telling me that's not how it's done. And good God Marie, don't you realize you've gotten my world all wrong. Thus Danika was born and Kingdom turned into something completely unexpected.

:)

Unknown said...

Thank you, Rhianna, and yeah... I've never outgrown them either. :D

Unknown said...

Good luck, Jennifer.

Unknown said...

I agree, Copper. Living in Hawaii my littlest one has never seen a snowflake, I can't wait to return to the mainland so that he can experience it. In my opinion, part of Christmas is all that fluffy, white stuff. :D

Good luck.

Thoughtful gifts for a very cool contest, Marie. I have to admit that some years I like Christmas more than others. My kids are 16 and 13 now and I enjoyed it more than any other time in my life when they were little. The whole pulling off the Santa thing is delightful. My father passed away in 2011 and now, none of the holidays last year or this year are quite right, just knowing he's not in the world. Still, when I don't want to make a turkey or put up a tree, my family insists and pulls me back from feeling melancholy.

I guess my favorite part of Christmas is Christmas morning, with all the shopping behind me and all the promise of the day ahead of me, those wonderful moments before the presents are being torn open, before the happiness (or disappointment), when it's all anticipation.

I hope you have a super Christmas, and I have to say, I love your bad hair day picture on the "About Marie" page.

Best wishes,
Sydney

I absolutely love your books! Okay I have only read one but it has been because lack of funds recently. I read Her Mad Hatter and it was so amazing. I love this time of year as well. I think my favorite part is the lights! So much so, that we started a tradition with our kids. One night, very close to Christmas, we all pile in the car and drive around the neighborhoods looking at displays and then come home for hot cocoa with marshmellows. There is more..but that is my favorite, especially now that it's a family "thing".

This is my favourite time of year also, I love everything about it. The Christmas tree lights shining in my kids eyes as they rearrange *yet again* the decorations so everything is on the bottom limbs, snuggling on the couch watching the Christmas specials, and seeing the anticipation on theirs faces the morning of.

One of my fav memory's of Christmas with my parents, was that my Dad was (and still is) always the most excited. My brother and I would return to their house Christmas Eve, and about 5am (not kidding) we would be awoken to blasting carols and Dad knocking on the bedroom doors (like he needed to lol) shouting silly things like 'ding dong Christmas time' or 'Crimbo's here pressie time!' So much fun. Queue rum and eggnog.

I think these gifts are awesome, like you're not good enough to your readers already by entertaining the hell out of us! =P

I am now subscribed to your newsletter =) ceshooter@yahoo.ca

lol(bad hair day)

And the anticipation of Christmas morning is, I agree, the most magical part of the day itself. Because once the presents are open and the food's eaten, it pretty much just devolves into kids playing with their toys. (Husband included in that one) :p

And (((hugs))) about your dad.

Unknown said...

LOL... thank you.

Cocoa, ambrosia for the gods. I love it, especially the vanilla scented kind. ;)

Unknown said...

Thanks so much, and I gotta say, your Christmas memory sounds like a blast. Pretty similar to how my parents were. That was the only time of year that the earlier I got woken up, the less cranky I was. I was a night owl, even then. :p

A few days ago I discovered Her Mad Hatter as a free download for kindle. To say I was excited would be an understatement. I love fairy tales but always crave a more adult version of them. This fit the bill perfectly and I am now hooked and reading Red and her Wolf, Sighs happily. So much delicious goodness!! I have no doubt Jinni's Wish and Gerard's beauty will be devoured by the start of the New Year! I am eagerly awaiting Hook's tale, he has always been my favorite villain in fairy tales.
