It was so much fun hearing from all of you all the places in the world you'd want to visit, so many of them I share. And I can't believe I totally forgot to mention Italy as one of my all time favorites, because it so is. I'd love to see wine country someday. So today I'll ask another personal question because it's so much fun for me to learn about my readers. Here is a what would you do hypothetical question.
Say you've won a million dollars, what would you do?
Me, I'd buy a beautiful, secluded little seaside cottage surrounded by towering pines and forest to help inspire me to write. Then I'd bring all my extended family along to live, and I think that would be pretty darn fantastic. Everything else I'd give to charity because really, that's all I'd want. Just a beautiful home surrounded by those I love.
So what would you do?

With a million dollars I'd buy a house with a tower room to use as a library buy tons of books and split what's left between animal shelters and children's hospitals
If I'd won a million dollars I'd buy a big nice house and I'd travel around the world. The rest of the money I'd give to charity or to my belove ones
I would buy a nice house on a lot of land with horses then I would put some away for both of my daughters college and weddings. I would also build a house on our land for my parents.
I would buy a house with 4 bedrooms with a big garden for my children buy them all new bedroom furniture because everything they've ever had has been 2nd hand or 3rd hand...new washing machine and fridge freezer...get my partner driving lessons and car...get my sister driving lessons and a car...buy my mum a semi new car...go pn a family holiday because we never have. And with left over money put it in the kids savings account
I'd buy a home someplace warm and beautiful. I would also buy homes for my children; and then I would pay my friends and family mortgages off.
I would pay off my student loans, send my parents on a vacation, and then travel with my husband.
If I won a million dollars I would buy as many books and buy a house with a library for all my books.
If I won a million dollars I would pay off my loans, go on a vacation, and donate the rest to the wounded warrior project
If I won a million dollars I would pay my debts off first, then buy a nice home for my family, at least 5 bedrooms so my kids could each have their own room. I would put some back for college and our retirement and donate part to charity. I would still want to work part time, because I love what I do, but I would leave time to relax and travel with my family.
with a million, I will surely pay my car and maybe going to damasco with my boyfriend =) since that is a place he always have dreamed of going, some of that will go to animal foundations because is always good to help our furry friends too =)
I'd travel as much as I can and with whatever money is leftover, I'd split it among my family members and charity.
I've had this thought for a while now, to create a program for kids in need. One thing I've learned over the years is that for kids who've ended up in the system, when they turn 18, they're basically kicked to the curb. Growing up with farmers for relatives they made me think about what kids need to know, and I think a program that teaches them basic gardening and life skills would be beneficial. Especially if it's self-sufficient and helps them find a place of their own. There are these cute Tiny Houses that can be built on trailers or slightly larger ones on foundations. I think that with that concept, teaching building and farming, as well as food preservation, well that it'd be a worthy program. I just would want it to be privately funded. I'd hate to see a program corrupted by politics. Okay, that's enough insight into my crazy mind for one day. :)
(note to self... check spelling. LOL)
I would pay off student loans and build a big cabin in the woods. I'd set up funds for all my nephews and niece. Then once my family was set id travel with my love all around the world
I would buy a place in the country, get completely out of debt, take a nice long vacation. I would invest the rest so then I can retire before I'm 40.
If I won a million dollars I would of course pay off my debt, share with my immediate family (probably tell the rest where to go! lol) and then try to find some medical treatment somewhere that could help my Dad (he has arthritis in his spine and some days he can't stand up straight!) and the same for me (I have UC and a lot of internal damage from the c-diff infection that almost killed me 3 yrs ago). That way we would be able to enjoy the money and do trips or go see some Nascar races. I would also then like to buy any and all books I could possibly ever want! :) Maybe look after some of my fave authors too! Marie, if you are the top of my list does that get me any bonus points? I could buy you your cabin in the woods! hint hint KIDDING!!!
Honestly, I don't know what I would do with that much money. I would probably put it away until my husband retires, then we would use that money to travel. I grew up really poor, so that amount of money would be spent carefully. What can I say, I'm a practical girl :)
I would set up an organisation where kids that have a hard life(if they are homeless, abused, lacking in self confidence) can come and work over their problems. It would also be an animal centre so the kids that have a hard life can look after the animals that have had a hard life too. If I had some left over I would travel around the world volunteering and exploring.
I'd pay off the world for myself and my family... then visit those places mentioned before :-P as well as buy a house and maybe a vacation house for those times when you just want to get away :-)
with a million dollars I would go to culinary school then open my own bakery. Then I would pay off the rest of my parents mortgage so they can own their house. Then I would donate the rest.
Pay off my college tuition, buy a house with my own personal library ;) , take a vacation and then give a portion to charities that help children have better access to the arts (music, art, literature) as well as access to books and local libraries. :)
A million hmmm well I would buy a lot of land all over and build a bunch of no kill animal shelters. I would take care of the animals before myself
Buy myself and my sisters new houses and cars and then take a few cruises.
Pay off my student loans
i buy a house with a big fenced in back yard so my two little ones could play, a place with a nice little garden that i could go and read one of your books. I can't wait for Hoods Obession.
I'm building an eco-friendly house along the coast. I love the beach & the ocean. (No idea why I am living inland.)
Payoff all our debt, buy a huge chunk of land and build a nice home and a half way house/animal rescue farm to give the hurt and hopeless a second chance
I'm kinda boring. If I had a million dollars: I'd pay off my student loans, fix up my parent's house, get a place of my own, give some to charity, and put most of the rest away for retirement. I'd keep a little aside for a rainy fund/vacation of course.
Pay off some debt, put some into kid's college fund and the rest in savings, after I take a sweet family trip. :)
I would play it safe. set up college funds for my kids, buy a house, buy decent vehicles if there is enough left after the reality of taxes, then take a vacation to somewhere far away, like Ireland.
I would buy my Mom a nice home and make sure she had everything she needed, I'd pay off this house and buy some land, maybe a ranch and rescue dogs. I have to look away whenever that ASPCA commercial comes on. It breaks my heart every time. Hubby has always worked with dogs in the military, so we've always loved pooches. Our three dogs have all been strays. I'd donate the rest to various charities. If you receive good fortune, it's good karma to pay it forward.
I'd buy a house and pay off my student loans :)
I would buy a house that's resting on a lot of land, and I would want the house to be fairly big so that I can dedicate at least one room as y personal library/office. I would also want to make sure my family is taken care of - wouldn't be here without them so I would want to take care of them too <3
Thank you so so so much!
I would get my daughter braces, my son a xbox one, me a apple laptop, and a car then put most in savings. Just enjoy life for awhile. Without any worries! Both at would be amazing!
I would pay off my parents mortgage, buy myself 2 acres of secluded land surrounded by trees and nature and build a house. Then I would start a bank account for my son for college and let the interest grow for the next 16 years, of course because he's only 2 :)
I'd first pay off my parent's debt as once they're settled a lot of my daily stress would vanish. I'd then buy a new handicapped van as mine has lots of issues. After that I'd donate to a few charities and then just keep the rest and make interest off it as you never know how the future will go. I'm not one to go all crazy with money, I'm happy living a bland life. Having money would just take away the stress of bills.
